#1 Under the covers, SSRS uses sp_executesql @Items = 'A101,A102'

If you use a query (not a sp). The code WHERE tbl.Item IN (@Items) will be converted...

FWIW I can reproduce but I dont think its necessarily a bug.

The first query appears to be starting a transaction named sp_who2.

The last one appears to have a problem...

What SP level (MS usually prefers the latest SP, so I need to ask)

In theory there's no difference in writing it or not.

In pratice, in my own little world, it makes the code look cleaner.

Not diff perf wise.
