Sounds to me like you just have a olap query taking a little more ressources the your other "normal" queries.

Cxpackt at 4th place??? I wouldn't bother, AT ALL, with it atm.

My observation is that there are lot of people posting their Homework Assignments.

It is so obvious that they are not real world problems. They are not even good...

In the create table script, comment out the ON 'Data Filegroup 1].

That will let the table be created on your default file group.

After that the inserts will work.

#1 Is half correct. The query will work but the refresh columns will fail. What you need to do to go around that is to run the query...

36 is in my experience high for (mainly) oltp. It's not for olap.

See if the query sent via SSRS really sends what you think it sends (you may get a big surprise there).
