    For those with a SQL 2005 box you can test on, does the following result in the same error:

    use master

    select fileid [file_id], name from sysfiles intersect

    select file_id, name...

    If the 2 indexes are 100% identical, then yes they should be fragmented in the same way. Assuming they were created at the same time, or that at some...
