I have just checked that system table " sp_mergecleanupmetadata" is excessively large. Is this could be the reason for this failure ???

There is no space on the server to take backup. Moreover its a prodcutin server , so restart is not permitted

i am using following steps...
1) ight click on db maintenance plan and select new maintenance plan..
2) after that i select the db's
3)then i click next,next...
4) in specify disk backup directory...
