  • RE: Always On and Shrinking a file

    Hi,

That's as I thought, shrink the primary and the secondary will shrink, I'll try it out in a very small size reduction and see.

    Thanks for your reply.

  • RE: Always On Setup - Log Chain

    So I built a test for this which did the following;

    1. Create a database

    2. Insert 2 records into a table and take a full backup (FB1).

    3. Insert 2 more records...

  • RE: MDS - Audit

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply, yes I could but I was trying to avoid that if I could but I think it may have to be that.

    I just don't buy that...

  • RE: MDS - Audit

    Hi,

I've come up with a solution to this (in part). The MDS data is synced over to another system via an SSIS package. In the package I bring over the...

  • RE: SSAS - Phantom Data - Date format?

    Not at all.

The issue for me was that the account the SSAS agent was running as had a default language of 'English' in the database engine, so when it was...

  • RE: SSAS - Phantom Data - Date format?

I think I've got this, it was an incorrect service account config.

  • RE: SSIS - Dynamic Column Mapping

  • RE: House Keeping - Statistics

    Hi,

I've not forgotten about this, I've just been busy, I'll do my best to get an article together with scripts in the next week or so.

    Sorry for the delay.

  • RE: House Keeping - Statistics

I've taken so much from this site and the SQLcommunity that it be my pleasure to try and put something back by contributing.

I'll get something typed up and submitted.

    Thanks,

    Nic

  • RE: House Keeping - Statistics

Yes, it records the start and end time for each statistic and also the sample rate it used and the method, rows or percent.

It also allows for specifying scan details...

  • RE: House Keeping - Statistics

Thank you all for the comments, using them I've built a robust customisable housekeeping script for all our statistics with suitable auditing included.

    Thanks again,

    Nic

  • RE: House Keeping - Statistics

    Hi,

Thank you both for your response, I think I'm going to go with a straight forward SAMPLE by default and let SQL decide based on the table size, but allow...

  • RE: House Keeping - Statistics

    Hi Leonard,

Thanks for this whilst this is an excellent script for people without anything or looking to add to existing maintenance.

From what I can see the @SampleStatistics parameter is set...
