Luis:I fully agree with your syntax but it still gives the same error.
May be some tweaking might help.
Without the DDL (CREATE TABLE statement) for the table(s) involved, sample data...

The following is not right.. If you can help me please .....ALTER TABLE ENROLLMENT_IN
DROP
FOREIGN KEY ([FILE_ID]) REFERENCES FILE_ID_IN([FILE_ID])
Try this:
ALTER TABLE ENROLLMENT_IN
DROP
CONSTRAINT <fk_constraint_name>;
