  • RE: Speed difference between SSIS or T-SQL

It's not a difference between maintenance plans and T-SQL. The maintenance plans use T-SQL commands, just like typing them in yourself.

  • RE: Track data change in a table.

These two articles have a lot of information on logging and auditing:

    http://www.sqlservercentral.com/articles/Auditing/63248/

Their discussions add a lot to them.

  • RE: Link 2005 to 2000 sql server

Which way is the connection going? Is the 2000 server pulling data from the 2005 server, or the other way around?

I could be missing something, but it looks like what you posted will do what you need. Do you have a question about it, or a problem with it?

Take a look at "Create Event Notification" and the linked articles from it, in Books Online. Should have the data you need in there.

  • RE: How do you actually install SQL 2005 licenses ?

The CDs/DVDs are just a convenient way to install on a server that doesn't have an Internet connection, or to reinstall without having to redownload.

Second the motion on "SQL Server 2005 Bible". Excellent book. The 2000 version of that book made it possible for me to learn SQL when I needed to.

  • RE: CharIndex Help

This, "SUBSTRING(TPSAptfor,1,CHARINDEX(',',TPSAptfor,1)-1)" will give you an invalid substring length error (which is the one you seem to be getting) if there is no comma in the field.
