  • RE: Trigger Vs Stored Procedure

Performance differences aren't the reason to chose one over the other. Purpose is the defining characteristic that separates procs from triggers.

Do you have a specific issue that you're trying...

  • RE: Parsing data from 1 SQL table to 1 or more xxx_GLEntries_yyyymmdd.csv files

Create a query that selects the company IDs/names/whatever that you want files for. The idea is one row per file to be created.

Use that in SSIS to create a...

  • RE: How to identify the objects which are altered based on date?

Books Online and http://www.msdn.com have data on how to use DDL triggers to audit database changes. Look them up in there, you'll get what you need.

  • RE: sp_send_dbmail as CSV

There's another parameter that might help, @query_result_separator. It's char(1), and defaults to a single space. If you change that, it might help.

  • RE: How to identify the objects which are altered based on date?

Default trace will have some of that.

If you want more, you pretty much need to set up DDL triggers and log the changes. That's pretty easy to do.

  • RE: Performance Issue

The difference is that reorganizing an index just defragments the index, while rebuilding the index creates a fresh copy of it, and updating the statistics gives SQL Server an idea...

  • RE: difference between using between and >= and <=

SQL Server translates "between" into the other at runtime. No difference except possibly readability.

  • RE: sort rows in table from left to right (not top to bottom)

    when Val2...
