In that case, I recommend keeping a log of databases that are detached and when it was done.
These methods will find a detached file, but they don't take into account...

Uninstall-reinstall. Had one like that last year and that's what I had to do.

Is there a reason you need to consolidate it all into one column and make it into a custom code?
Why not have an int UserID column, a smalldate DateAndTime column,...
