Express roast sounds like something you cook in a microwave, after piercing the plastic covering.
But in an SQL setting, I guess it would be a free roast that you can't...

In a trigger, I'd definitely be more inclined towards inserting into a queue and then having a job send the e-mails. Schedule for once a minute, and you're not...

You could use the output clause to create a recordset of the deleted record(s).
Look up "Output" in Books Online, it has all the details.

Nope. Have tried it with half-and-half. The results were the same as with 2%/4%, but messier and a bit more expensive.
