Have you run a trace to see what the commands are?

It's almost certainly either a homework/test question, or an interview question, with a slight possibility of being a "hey, I wonder" type curiosity question.

Try updating .NET on that machine. Also try re-installing your SQL tools.
Do you have any third-party add-ons for SSMS? Like some of the Red Gate tools? If...
