De default values are basically wrong: the one for cost made sense some years ago, the one for degree has always to be changed.

    Cost threshold should always be...

So it does work. What's the problem then (and you probably shouldn't be using the GUI in a disaster situation, especially if it's throwing incorrect error messages)?

    p.s. That error is...

  • RE: Are the posted questions getting worse?

*sigh* Why do people post questions in the forums and then send me PMs, occasionally multiple ones notifying me of that fact?

I could not apply any trx log backups on a copy only backup. This means I need to run my full backups on the primary server?

    You're tested that...

  • RE: session ids status?

Your reply has nothing to do with what I asked...

Have you checked and verified that the application can handle the connections being killed? If not, do you have any idea...

You would want the fixed length columns stored first and then any variable length columns.

Not really, because SQL stores the columns on the page that way no matter...

Position of the columns within the table has no effect other than on queries doing a SELECT *

Plus recompile relaxes the rules about the plan being safe for reuse, plus there's the additional visibility into table variables, probably other stuff too.
