If you created a trigger you will see it under the triggers folder for each table in Object Explorer. Did you refresh object explorer after creating the trigger?

Rebuild is essentially the same as drop and recreate. There may not have been enough space for the rebuild to create the new index without fragmentation.

That view is there to tell you why the log isn't been reused. It doesn't control the log's...
