If you insert rows into a temp table in SQL and commit the transaction, the rows will be in the temp table until they are deleted or the temp table...

Why don't you test both options and see which is better? Offhand, I can't say which'll be faster.

Sorry, don't understand what you're asking. Transaction behaviour for Temp tables is pretty much the same as for normal tables.

Try backing up to the local disk and then copying the files over the network after. It only takes a small network glitch for the backup to fail.
