p.s. At the sizes you're talking, there's one valid reason for multiple log files. A single log file cannot be larger than 2TB. So if you're touching that, you'll need...

One log file. Always and only.
SQL does not ever parallel across log file. It writes to the log file in a serial manner. If there's more than one log file...

Just bear in mind that's not actually page splits (in the sense of SQL splitting a full page). Any page allocations into the index get counted against that.

If you're not seeing deadlocks in the error log with that traceflag on then you aren't getting any deadlocks. That's a good thing.
