If the drive the files are currently on is damaged, there's no guarantee a repair will succeed. I'd prefer to be safe.

SQL binaries. They often live with the OS.
Reinstall any that are damaged, it'll probably be quicker.

What you can do then is rename and disable sa, then create a low-privilege account (db_owner or lower) and call it sa.

They're handled exactly the same.
Only thing is that detach-attach (unless you make a copy of the files) doesn't leave you with a back-out option.

No. SQLTrace is profiler-related. Are you running the profiler GUI? (regardless of where it's coming from)
