Why are you declaring your dates as strings
@StartDate varchar(10) = '2011/10/01', @EndDate varchar(10)= '2011/10/10'
and then converting them to datetime
CAST(@StartDate AS DATETIME) AND CAST(@EndDate AS DATETIME)
