It's a great place to start, but a terrible place to finish. Treat them as suggestions that need investigating, analysing and testing, not as a 'you must create these' list.

So there's nothing in the error log? Are you looking at the right instance (if you have multiple instances)?

If PLE is 300 (5 min) it essentially means that the entire data cache is getting replaced in 5 minutes. Ok if you have maybe 1 GB memory, not OK...
