High CPU or high memory? High memory is normal and good, it's not a problem.

Nolock applies just to the table that it's specified on, and it will override the default isolation level as well as any requested with SET TRANSACTION ISOLATION LEVEL

I deleted files and no the database does not show that it is in recovery but there are no nodes to expand.
What files exactly did you delete?

First thing to do, before trying random stuff, would be to identify the specific cause of the DB not being able to be opened.

Sure you can, if you know that space won't be used in a reasonable amount of time.
A once-off shrink and then rebuild all your indexes afterwards.
