There still is something to be said to run actual performance/load testing against actual data, and not scrubbed data. Things like security, data patterns, statistics, etc......

If you execute a NET STOP command on the service through xp_cmdshell does it stop?

2. Make sure the sproc ALWAYS returns a resultset, even if it is empty.. Set the result-set...

Help me by being paranoid for a second..

Execute this command:

EXEC master.dbo.xp_cmdshell 'SET'

It will return all the environment variables available to the SQL Server.

I'm curious what the line that says: USERNAME=

has...

Where do these returned records go?

I'm a little fuzzy on your process. IT sounds like you have a sproc that does some processing and then may or may not kick out an error list....

I think it is ok to post your questions. But I offer this.

1. Google it first, see if you can find a resolution. Not doing any...
