sp_who is still available in SS2K8 R2. I don't find any note on BOL that indicates its deprecation in Denali or later.

It assumes the number is positive unless specifically marked as negative. Thus 42 and +42 are same.

Few Questions:
•What do you mean by split? 1 database split into multiple databases or multiple schemas?
