There's a lot of "stuff" wrong with any new product like this... I would just document it and get on with the rollout... developers can deal with problems... maybe one...

I would start by seeing what is currently in sysservers... and if the desired server is not there, I would use the sp_addlinkedserver procedure they name in the message to get...

guess that makes sense... I would not let it fix regularly then... maybe that's why none of the dbs I inherited have it checked...
