    Have you tried setting your database to trustworthy and registering the interop dll with permission_set = unsafe?

    OK this is really strange.

    If I run this:

    SELECT dbo.MyClrFunction(sDateField)

    FROM #myTempTable

    it works fine on 18000 rows.

    If I run this:

    UPDATE #myTempTable

    SET sDateField2 = dbo.MyClrFunction(sDateField)

    FROM #myTempTable

    I get the errors and have to drop...

    Thanks - this would be a nice test for a practical interview if hiring for a DBA. Corrupt a bunch of things in advance and show the interviewee the DBCC...

    DB is 21GB and indexes are all up to date. I think it was some kind of lock error rather than a performance issue. Restarting...

    Yea it fails each time.

    Can't see anything in the event logs at all but I noticed that this:

    Is awaiting installation on the server.

    I for one am an Analyst Programmer with some SQL responsibilities on top, not a full on DBA.

    This kind of thing is useful to me if I'm writing a application...
