Alternative is to turn off table access, make them use a stored proc, you can do the logging in it easily.

Have not. Tried sending to different address/different domain to try to rule out email client or transport issues? Or try sending from Outlook directly?

I go with spids too. Its not 100% of course, but for my purposes doesnt matter. Even that is a swag depending on how the apps are managing their connections.
