your paging file should be at least the amount of RAM
i think if it's too small then you may get a lot of paging and it will create a lot...

we replicate the main db's to reporting servers and then the reporting people run their transformations from those copies and build their own tables, etc.

we usually put OS, sql and whatever on drive c and the db's on the san or external storage

BTW you cant have RAID 1+0 with just 2 disks whatever planet you reside on 😉

you can run standard windows 2003 x64 with 12GB RAM. You need the enterprise for clustering and a few other things like ADFS.
