    This generally happens immediately before you server bootsup or shutdown.

    And

    if somebody manually stoping the services from Service console.

    As stated by other check the windows event logs for more details.

    If you want to do a maintenance task, I'd check integrity first (if you have time), then backup, then maintenance cleanup, then history cleanup.

    As already stated by others just do a a search for "SqlWb.exe" (if using 2005) or SSMS.exe (if using 2008) and change the path accordingly.

    There shouldn't be any other problem.
