Has anyone use the iDrive online backup service? I'm thinking of getting that set up this weekend...it's the only one I've found that supports backup of Server 2003. ...

Are you sure you installed everything? (i.e. Did you just install the client tools, and not the database services?)

You can either script them all out (SSMS will do that for you), or use the transfer wizard in SSMS.

You might also look at the perfmon counters on the disk drives of the mirror server. It may be that it's having no trouble sending the log data across...

If your DBA isn't giving the permissions you need to move things around, then wouldn't moving them around be the DBA's problem and not yours?

I can confirm for you that when a log file on the principal shrinks in size, the one on the mirror does as well.
