You should have a primary key which has the Identity set to yes in each table.

The answer to your question is yes. Just create a new access project and point to your SQL 2000.

Have you tried adding your dsn to ODBC Data Source Administrator on the "File DSN" tab under from the control panel? That may help.

In general I would say "yes" to your question. The query to view conversion works with the exception of when a query in Access calls a parameter. For those queries...

When refering to "drop down bars" are you talking about Combo Boxes? If so do you have same problem with Text Boxes?

I am curious too. You can insert, delete, update and drop tables from DTS without opening Access.

I have used http://www.microsoft.com/sql/solutions/migration/access/default.mspx for upgrading an MDB to a SQL 2005 database and an ADP. It worked well for me.

You may want to try this Microsoft upsizing routing http://www.microsoft.com/sql/solutions/migration/access/default.mspx . It worked for me reasonably well.

An Access data project (ADP) may be an easier way to manage that.

I have connected both excel and access to 2005 without problems. For excel I connected through the excel data connection interface. On access I connected with an ADP.

I have had unexplained problems with an MS Access 2002 that were fixed by upgrading the database to Access 2003. If that is an option, I would recommend that.
