    Why can not you use the Backup and Restore option. It's not a best practice that you can move the mdf file over the network to the new server.

    Why can't you go with Robo copy or network copy thru \\servername\drive $\path.

    Or else use windows scheduler to use the copy over the network.

    You can use Dos command as well....

    Correct Erin, You Can use Cleanup task in SQL 2005. Make sure that .bak, .dif and .trn all should be seprate and schedule as the timeframe you required. 🙂

    Try to do this exercise...

    Fix/WorkAround/Solution:

    1) Use WITH REPLACE while using the RESTORE command.

    2) Delete the older database which is conflicting and restore again using RESTORE command.
