Where did you choose "Start"? in the Enterprise Manager? I dunno if this can help but try it anyways who knows maybe this make your server agent starts..
START>SETTING>CONTROL PANEL>ADMINISTRATIVE TOOL>SERVICES>Find...

The 2 databases(version 7) that will be restored in different server is 70 and those databases in the server with ms sql version 2000 is 80 any problem with it?...

Somewhat like sp_help table_name but more straight forward
sp_mshelpcolumns table_name
e.g.
sp_mshelpcolumns 'Data_table'
