  • RE: Temdb & Transaction Log Backups

I suspect only nominal.  Probably not enough of a saving to warrant even the few seconds spent clicking or typing the files into existence.

Jeff - 12 GIGABYTES??  GEEEEEEEYAAAZUS man, what...

  • RE: Charting Perfmon counters

Excel has long been a passion of mine but one I never had time to indulge!!

  • RE: User can''''t see DB''''s in EM...bug/known issue??

The error occurs at the start and doesn't rectify itself.  I'll find out about QA.

  • RE: Temdb & Transaction Log Backups

That's fascinating, this concept of having as many CPU's as TempDB datafiles.  I had always just contented myself with a single TempDb.mdf at 100Mb, a TempDb.ldf at 40Mb, and both spliced...

  • RE: DBA Responsibilities.

Brilliant answer, Jeff.  I would extend the small-company "hat" out to vendor-battler, DTS-fixer, and occasional OS/Hardware support.

  • RE: Load/Suspect database issue

Can we assume that the restore was successfully rolled back??

  • RE: Showing all Databases

    Sugesh,

Is there a way to do this in QA?

  • RE: Best practices for cross-lan data transfers

Carl, I'd like to thank you much for that!!

Just a couple of questions though,

    What FTP softwares can restart?

  • RE: Question about global variables

Sorry, I've worked it out - I was forgetting that this was a code to create the SP to optimise future insertions - not immediately execute one.

    My bad, Lynne thanks...

  • RE: Error: "Invalid Procedure Call or Argument, "DTS Lookups"

    It's ok...problem resolved...somehow????

I reloaded the SAME active X script for the lookup, and it decided to work.  Only one thing I hate more than a problem I can't solve -...

  • RE: Job Title

Amen to that.  The only good Recruitment Consultants have body temperatures hovering slightly above zero.

That said, my last agent was an exception, an absolute diamond top notch fella, went out for...

  • RE: Job Title

In my SQL Server experience (same length as yours, wide variety of environments, but little/no non-prod work), the factors that govern marketability are, in descending order of significance:

    Skillset/frequency of use;

    Size/variety...

These requests are on behalf of a good (DBA) friend of mine who would like me to express his deepest gratitude, it was "Very nice of him, he must be...

  • RE: Populating a ''''Calendar'''' table

    Hi Ninj,

This is exactly what I wanted!!!  Ok, which part of Access must this be implemented in??  Ie, queries, stored procs, VBA, etc??

    Cheers,

    JB.

  • RE: Populating a ''''Calendar'''' table

    Hi Tim,

Appreciate that, I wanted to know if there's a way to do the same thing programatically, so that I don't have to manually enter any records??

    Cheers,

    JB.
