I am not sure the two are related the question is why do you need the .NET framework installed? The reason is SQL Server 2005 require .NET 2.0 framework...

This is a legacy database, what is this strange "SCOPE_IDENTYTY()" that you speak of? When I got here three years ago there were no keys.
Scope_Identity returns the last value...

This Collation is also used by SSRS which does not care what is your server base Collation however I think in SharePoint you are required to use that Collation for...

All I have gathered so far is, that SQL Server reporting services requires Windows authentication and VISTA home premium doesnt support windows authentication.

You could run some test but I don't think you should be running SQL Server 2000 with service pack below SP3a because the SP3a is security patch for the slammer...
