    Are you doing just a vanilla report or a SharePoint Dashboard?

    Generally, MSFT recommends that you use Excel Services on SP. (That is THE reason for MOSS 2007...)

    well I have been using XLS file as a datasource and it is working well.

    I have also seen a user who uploaded saved Excel files in ReportServer and viewed...

    using SSRS or any other tools is not an option, I am just wondering why an XLS file can be used as a data source but not an XLSX...

    Oracle client has been installed, and I can access the data from the server using SQL*Plus. The TNSNAMES is correct. In SSIS I can "Test Connection"...

    What I heard is uninstalling SQL Server Reporting Services is very tricky and people

    by mistake would uninstall SQL Server itself.

    So I guess, deleting these reporting databases...
