It includes backup databases,monitoring the servers,monitoring diskspace for proper running of servers.
1. Check OS Event Logs, SQL Server Logs, and Security Logs for unusual events.

SK,
you have to take a full backup follwed by a transaction log backup of primary database and restore it in mirror database "with no recovery" mode.Then perform mirroring
