Is there a shrink of the database occurring manually or is the database set to auto-shrink, and coincidentally it's doing it at the time of backup? What do you get...

Is there a reason you are running it in Windows Task Scheduler as opposed to within SQL? SQL can email for you, on completion or error, with some set-up. Personally,...
