Startup In Single-User Mode

  • Even though -m is the direct answer, -f too places SQL instance in single user mode. BOL states this as " Starting SQL Server in minimal configuration mode places SQL Server in single-user mode."

  • Excellent work Anoo. I have read BOL & tested this, and you are correct. -f does put the instance in a minimal configuration, but also single user mode. I guess I owe the 40+ people that answered -f a point.
