SQL Server Reporting Services - Optional Parameters

  • Hi,

I have an optional prompt which I want to be filled automatically...

the order of this prompt is prompt Number -3, I mean it is a cascading based on previous 2 prompts.

I want to show Select All as default parameter when I select first two prompts for all other remaining prompts.

    Example:

    1st parameter - Country - USA (mandatory)

2nd parameter - State - NEW YORK (mandatory)

3rd parameter -City - Show Select All by default (automatically as I select new york)

Now If I want I can deselect and select and particular one.

I just wanna shopw the word Select All in the Text box.

    any help.......

    Thanks

  • Provided the dataset for Parameter 3 is driven by the selections for Parameters 1 and 2, probably all you need to do is make Parameter 3 a multi-value parameter, and set its default value to itself (its own dataset and value). The latter is tantamount to defaulting the parameter to "Select All".

    Hope that helps!
