Hi All,
I am looking for SQL server Monitoring 3rd Party Software.
I have Quest I/Watch and NetIQ for shortlisted.
Is there anybody here has experience with DB Monitoring Software?
Or how can I find related information regarding SQL Monitoring such as
Product comparison, Pricing, The Best Product etc?

Hi
I have been using sqlprobe (netiq bought it recently) for around 6 months now. Its a good product, ive had some issue with memory exception faults, clashing with IE and outlook etc, but they come and go. The product is a good one overall, with nice drill downs, takes some time to get used to read the stats (like all things) and some of the stats seems a little strange, ie. not matching what is happening in the db for example. Support is top notch though, but with the cut over to netiq ive yet to experience their assistence. Apparently the price is set to rise "dramatically", this may or may not price us out of this tool and into another as we dont know the "new price" as yet.
I monitor 3 prod servers, even so, i could have spent the time writing scripts etc, but have always pushed 3rd party products where possible.
List down all the items you need to monitor, rank them, get a eval copy, rank them in terms of functionality, usability and depth of coverage, then go from there.
