Hi all,
Im new to SQL Mail. When I say xp_startmail, i get a message
'Server: Msg 17952, Level 18, State 1, Line 0
Failed to start SQL Mail session. Check the errorlog file in the SQL Server directory for details.'
Can someone tell me what the problem is??
I'm using Exchange 5.5, Outlook 2000. I've logged in as the Win NT administrator who has the rights for the startup of the three SQL Services.

Well, did you find any additional info in the errorlog? Have you got Outlook 2000 set up and working as a standalone app on the server? Good first step is to confirm that you can send and receive mail using Outlook. Next would to check the name of the profile you're using in SQL compared to Outlook.

Stand-alone:
Profile created in Outlook for the same user account that runs the SQL Server service. Outlook can be used to send and receive mail.
Deno, it sounds like this isn't the issue for you since you're sending and receiving mail through Outlook. Can you post your error message as well?
