please suggest me what should i do for re-storing the databse

  • Hello Sanjeev,

Are you trying to restore a SQL 2005 database backup to SQL 2000 server?

If so, it is not possible to restore a higher version database backup to a lower version server.

Check the version on your PC.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks

  • hi

i have taken the backup of sql-server 2005 form another hard disk

and now i m going to restore it on another hard disk on which sql-server 2005 is installed.

at the time of restore it is giving problem

    which i have earlier mentioned.

so there is no role of sql-server 2000 in this.

but i have installed sql-server 2000 also on my PC.

pls suggest me what should i do.

    thanks in advance.
