Problem Creating Maintnenance Plan

  • I successfully installed sql 2005 and restored my databases. My databases seem to be functioning just fine ( I use them with Microsoft Dynamics SL and am getting no errors). However when I try to create a maintenance plan (from scratch or using the wizard), I cannot see my databases. The only things that appear are Master, Model, MSDB, ReportServer$SQL2005, and ReportServer$SQL2005TempDB. I have tried detaching and attaching my db's. Uinstalled and reinstalled sql. Nothing seems to work. Can anyone help?

  • Can you see the databases in object explorer? Have you looked for orphaned users?

EXEC sp_change_users_login 'Report' --to check for orphaned users

  • I got no results when I ran your script for all 3 of my databases. Yes I can see the databases in Object Explorer. I can run scripts or anything else I want to do...except for back them up with a maintenance plan. I can run a maual backup if I want to.

  • I found my problem. My compatibility level was set to 70. I have corrected it and it works. Thanks for your help.

  • Well, I can see where that would be an issue.

Any idea how the compat level got set to 70?

  • Old tip still valuable, thanks.
