I am trying to connect to my SQL2000 Server (sp4) through ODBC. Two of my vendor logins will not work and spit out an error such as this:
Attempting connection
Connection established
Verifying option settings
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]SELECT permission denied on object 'syscharsets', database 'master', owner 'dbo'.
All the others seem to work okay and are similarily configured. Has anyone run into this sort of behaviour before?

Anyone? This is driving me nuts! I can odbcping the database with the vendors login but I can't get it to work through the normal odbc interface.

You say your logins are configured similarly. Have you checked the permissions on syscharsets to see if there is a problem there?
