Metldown and Spectre

CC-597066, you don't really need to kick people out of SQL Server during a patch.

I wouldn't normally bother but these guys were running SSMS in an RDP session on the server I was patching so their processes appeared in the files in use list. I therefore logged them out then reran the check.

  • Has anyone seen any large jump in resource usage after patching?   I am very closely monitoring as we roll this out and I am not seeing much change at all so far.  I will state though that the ones we have patched have been low to mid use ones so far.  Its been a mix of different SQL Server versions as well.
