Really; I get more closed to check with you the following:
1-If you have AMD Processor even QUAD processor , it will cause high I/O with difference 24% more than Intel CPU ...So please check this for Prod and Dev Servers
2- If same , I have some think that H/W Config of the QUAD processors have problem so may be one of these 4 processors has problem so I think setting the options "Automatically set I/O and processor affinity mask for all processors" is more efficient and you should refer to the vendor.
2-Please note that these options really are not recommended at all by Microsoft except under very unusual conditions like your case 1 hour and 20 minutes.

thank you both for your responses. I'm longer working at the customer where we had this issue, so I won't be able to do anymore testing, but both your information might still be valuable to me (or others) in future projects.
