When I am calling delete command for the table then it gives me an invalid column error. I am suspecting that it can be because of the trigger but how do I validate that... how to resolve the error?

In order to answer this, we need a lot more information than you have given us. We need to see the code that you used in your delete command, the actual error message that you received and the DDL for the table would be nice too.
