High Availability - Dependent on Pipe Speed??

  Hi,

  I have High Availabilty setup with a remote server in a different state. The server in the other state (DR site) is setup as async.

  The redo rates/recovery time in H/A is very high going to the to the other state (several hours). It was not like this previously.

  I can't find anything wrong with SQL. My sys admin says he is sure it is because of heavy traffic on the pipe from here to the remote site.

  Could heavy network traffic directly effect my H/A recovery times even with it set to use async?
