DISK IO Capacity

  • Hi,

I have asked to prepare the SQL Server Capacity with respective to the IO.

Please share the SQL Server Capacity with respective to IO in the server,

Also plz share like how to find the capacity of the windows server (IO)

From sql point of view i have taken from the Performance Monitor tool however i have no idea to find the Server Capacity (IO) based on the server io comparison its easier to justify the sql server db server capacity./

    thanks.

  • I'm not clear on what you're asking for here.

Disk I/O capacity is something you'd get from the specifications on the various pieces of hardware involved. It'll depend on what kind of I/O system you have, who made it, what version it is, how it connects to the server, the drive(s) involved, the RAID configuration used, how LUNs have been set up, and a few details on the partitioning and such on the drives.

It's not something SQL Server can really tell you. It can only see what's available to it, not what the whole system is capable of.
