Database Administrator Certification

  • Guys,

    I am very interested in get a MSFT Certification , I am DBA, with about less than 1 year of experience, but I am 100% involve in Microsoft, I've been working with SQL 2000, and 2005. I need some guide which courses and exams I need to take inorder to get a MS Certification... I was looking for the MSDBA but I found is a legacy certification, so I am a little confused .

    I need some guide so I can look for courses to help me to get mine.

  • The MCDBA was for SQL Server 2000, but it's a bit late to be doing that. The starting point now is an MCTS instead. Your options for your first exam are as follows:-

    * 70-431 - MCTS SQL Server 2005 Implementation and Maintenance

    * 70-445 - MCTS SQL Server 2005 Business Intelligence

    or start looking at the SQL Server 2008 MCTS which are:-

    * 70-432 - MCTS SQL Server 2008 Implementation and Maintenance

    * 70-433 - MCTS SQL Server 2008 Database Development

    * 70-448 - MCTS SQL Server 2008 Business Intelligence
