Hi I would like to compare past and present hardware inventories in SMS. Im sure SQL Svr has the ability to do this probably from the command line but Im not sure how to go about it. Any help appreciated.

I have spent more time than I care for in the SMS database trying to retain where MS is storing pertinent data and it is extremely confusing to say the least. I know of no scripting for SMS that will do what you are asking so, the script would need to be created. If you give a specific table reference from SMS and what you would like to compare, I can offer some suggestions.
