Hello!
On our Microsoft SQL Server we provide tabular models that are executed as services in SQL Server/Analysis Services/Integration Services. Unfortunately, it happens again and again that our analysis service hangs sporadically and is thus terminated. Although the crashed service is started automatically via the Windows services, it is no longer accessible via the network for "SSMS" and "On-premises data gateway". This means that the entire server must be restarted.
In our attachment you can see the eventlog with error messages to the crash.
About our system:
Software: OS Windows Server 2016 „1607“, SQL Server 2017 (14.0.3238.1) CU17
Hardware: Vshpere VM, 12 x CPU „12 Sockets“, 96 GB RAM
HDD size: (C: > OS, total 211 GB/free 138 GB), (D: > SQL DB, total 55 GB/free 33 GB), (E: > SQL Logs, total 60 GB/free 20 GB), (J: > SQL DB-Temp, total 20 GB/free 17 GB )
Our SQL Server provides four tabular models for reporting purposes, which are updated periodically via SQL Server Agent.
The Analysis Service crash occurs sporadically, sometimes after two weeks and sometimes daily. We've had the bug for several months. Since CU13, the latest CU updates are always installed, but the error persists.
Thank you so much for your help
